Filmmaker turned actor Anurag Kashyap earlier shared his thoughts on the teaser of 'Thangalaan', reflecting on the stark difference between Hindi cinema and South Indian cinema. "Yesterday I was seeing the teaser of Thangalaan, and I was like, I don't see those visuals in Hindi cinema. I don't see us doing that," he remarked.
Pointing out how Bollywood's focus shifted abroad, he added, "There was a time period, I think, where instead of our roots, we went abroad. Our cinema took a detour to the UK & the US. So there's a whole decade that was dedicated to making films in the UK and US, so somewhere there's a massive disconnect which is not there in the South cinema and I get very inspired. I do not miss films from there, but I often miss films from Hindi."
