With just a few days to go for the release of the much-anticipated Mufasa: The Lion King, Walt Disney Studios India has shared a behind-the-scenes video of Tamil actors Arjun Das, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, and Robo Shankar, among others bringing life to the characters in the native language. The voice cast includes Arjun Das as Mufasa, Ashok Selvan as Taka, Nasser as Kiros, VTV Ganesh as Rafiki, Robo Shankar as Pumbaa, and Singam Puli as Timon. Singampuli and Robo Shankar reprise their roles as Timon and Pumbaa from the 2019 live-action remake The Lion King.
The upcoming film, directed by Barry Jenkins, will serve as a prequel to the 2019 live-action remake of the animated film. Mufasa: The Lion King will revolve around the titular character and how he rose to be the king of his pack.
While Aaron Pierre will lend his voice for the younger version of Mufasa in the English version, Kelvin Harrison Jr will voice for Scar. Others part of the cast include Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and John Kani as Pumbaa, Timon and Rafiki respectively.
