At a promotional interview for Vettaiyan, TJ Gnanavel the director of the film opened up about casting Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan for the film. He explained that the story demanded it, and it wasn't done for business purposes. Vettaiyan is all set to release on October 10. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati.
