As late Major Mukund Varadarajan's biopic Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is continuing its dream run at the box office four weeks after its release, actor-politician Vijay has congratulated the makers and expressed his praise for the film.
Amaran's director Rajkumar Periasamy posted a picture of his with Vijay, along with another picture of them 12 years ago. Rajkumar wrote, "I love you Vijay sir! Thank you! I pray for you everyday! God bless you! #Amaran." He added that both the pictures are 12 years, 2 months, 1 day and 15 hours apart from each other.
It is noteworthy that Rajkumar Periasamy worked as an assistant director to AR Murugadoss for Vijay's blockbuster action film Thuppakki (2012).
The film opened to overwhelming postive reviews upon its release on October 31. Our CE review of the film reads, "Sivakarthikeyan will no doubt secure many plaudits for his physical transformation, for owning the action scenes and the motivational speeches… but I caught myself being especially impressed with how he seemed to radiate an effortless sense of goodness and vulnerability, despite his job requiring him to be an alpha male at all times. Watch him tear up as he pleads for a teammate’s life. Watch the joy in his eyes during his OTA ceremony, with Indhu smiling softly in the background in a beautifully composed shot. Watch him hug Indhu and daughter and walk away, but change his mind to return to steal another embrace from them both. These are powerful, heartfelt moments."
